ANANSI
Spring, 2014. Costume Design Stage & Screen, Pomona College. Costumes for a theatrical production of the folktale Why the Moon and Stars Receive their Light from the Sun, one of the Anansi Stories of West Africa. This is a fun and trippy tale, which would lend itself nicely to a sensory overload, black light-heavy spectacle. I designed the costumes after traditional West African puppets and performance costumes, with a futuristic twist; and, with inspiration from Peking Opera makeup and Cirque Du Soleil.
